How-To Guide
How to show apartment availability on your WordPress website
Most property developers start with a PDF floor plan or a static image on their site. Buyers have to call or email to find out which apartments are still available — and by then half of them have moved on. This guide shows you how to publish a live availability map on WordPress without any custom development.
Step by step
Follow these steps
Install Interactive Real Estate from WordPress.org
Search for 'Interactive Real Estate' in the WordPress plugin directory and install the free version. It adds a new 'IRE Projects' menu to your WordPress admin.
Create a new project and upload your building image
Go to IRE Projects → Add New. Give the project a name, then upload your building render or floor plan image as the project background. The image can be JPEG, PNG, or WebP.
Draw a polygon zone over each apartment
The built-in canvas editor lets you click to place polygon vertices directly on the image. Trace the outline of each apartment. For each polygon, enter the flat name, floor, price, area, and number of rooms.
Set availability status for each unit
Each flat has a status: available, reserved, or sold. Set the current status for every unit. The polygon colour updates automatically — green for available, orange for reserved, red for sold (colours are customisable).
Copy the shortcode and embed it on a page
The shortcode is shown in the lower-left of the editor — for example [irep_project id="12"]. Paste it into any WordPress page using Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, or any other editor. The interactive map goes live immediately.
Update status when apartments sell
When a unit is reserved or sold, go to IRE Projects → your project → find the flat in the list → change its status. The colour on the interactive map updates for the next visitor within seconds.
