How-To Guide

How to display property units on your WordPress website

Displaying property units effectively on WordPress means more than a list of rooms. Buyers want to see which units are available, compare sizes and prices, and make enquiries about specific units — without back-and-forth emails. This guide shows two complementary ways to display units: a visual building map and a filterable flat list.

Step by step

Follow these steps

1

Decide how buyers will explore your units

Interactive Real Estate offers two shortcodes: [irep_project] for a visual building map where buyers click on units directly on an image, and [irep_flats] for a filterable list of units with price, area, and status columns. You can use either or both on the same page.

2

Install Interactive Real Estate

Search for 'Interactive Real Estate' in the WordPress plugin directory and install it free. No configuration wizard — you go straight to creating your first project.

3

Create a project and add your units

Create a new IRE project and add each unit as a 'flat'. Enter the unit name, price, area, number of rooms, floor, and current status. For the visual map, also draw a polygon over each unit on your floor plan image.

4

Set availability status for each unit

Mark each unit as available, reserved, or sold. On the visual map the polygon colour changes to reflect status. On the [irep_flats] list, a status badge appears next to each row. Buyers can filter to show only available units.

5

Embed the shortcode on your page

Use [irep_project id="X"] for the visual map, [irep_flats id="X"] for the filterable list, or both on the same page. Paste into any WordPress editor — Gutenberg, Elementor, Divi, or WPBakery.

6

Update unit status as sales progress

When a unit is reserved or sold, update its status in the IRE admin. The map and list both reflect the change immediately for the next visitor — no developer involvement needed.
